OK Brooke..I guess this is a situation where my"advanced years" come in handy. I was 14 at the time and very idealistic in my beliefs that , we, the youth of America could truely change the world. I was angry because I wasn't old enough to be a part of a historic change that was taking place down south. I wanted to be one of the hundreds of young civil rights workers who got on buses and headed to Mississippi that year.Then the reality of it all hit home when Schwerner, Chaney and Goodman were murdered. All of the sudden this was a big dose of what true evil was and it has always bothered me that 'they" got away with it. I must admit the oxygen and the wheelchair don't bother me in the least. As I watched him push a reporters microphone away as he was being wheeled out of court, I just smiled to myself and said "bye bye now" Who knows, maybe there really is a God.
